Admissions Consultation 2027

Harris Primary Academy Crystal Palace – Admissions Consultation

The Governing Body are consulting on proposed admissions arrangements for the 2027/2028 academic year. The consultation period will run from Thursday 11th December 2025 to Thursday 22nd January 2026.

In accordance with the Department for Education’s statutory School Admissions Code (2021), admission authorities must consult on their admission arrangements whenever changes are proposed, and at least once every seven years even if no changes are planned. As the Academy’s admission authority, the Harris Federation Trust Board (delegated to the Academy Governing Body) has a legal duty to review and determine admissions arrangements annually and to consult in line with the required timetable.

What change is proposed and why?
Harris Primary Academy Crystal Palace is proposing a change to its admission arrangements for the 2027/2028 academic year. Specifically, the Academy proposes to take all in-year admissions in-house and manage them directly through the school, rather than continuing to participate in the London Borough of Bromley coordinated in-year admissions scheme.

At present, our 2026/2027 arrangements state that Bromley Local Authority processes in-year applications on our behalf. Under the proposed 2027/2028 arrangements, parents would apply for in-year places directly to the Academy using our in-year application form, and the Academy would make decisions and communicate outcomes within the statutory timescales.

The full draft admissions arrangements for 2027/28 can be found below.
