What is the intent of the KS1 and KS2 Art Curriculum?

Harris Primary Academy Crystal Palace recognises and values the position of art in the curriculum and believes that a high-quality art and design curriculum should engage, inspire and challenge pupils. The intent of the art and design curriculum is to develop the skills and creativity within our pupils to allow them to experiment, invent, create, critique and explore the world in which they live. To gain knowledge and an understanding of art and design the students will learn about art through history, culture and rich experiences.

Children should leave our school with the skills and confidence to explore the creative and cultural aspects of life, work and themselves.
