Year 6 classes enjoyed a chilly outing to Crystal Palace Park to learn about the history of the Great Exhibition. Pupils kept warm by using bamboo to create the structure of the original building and learning all about the Victorian Empire. https://t.co/PAXKUAqeX7

We're working with Christmas Forest to promote their ongoing partnership with Tree Aid. Trees are planted in the drylands of Africa, helping provide a livelihood to some of the poorest communities on earth - over the last 12 years they have helped to grow 232,275 trees. https://t.co/FQnUOdXRNK

Classes

We pride ourselves on the creativity in our highly interactive classrooms. Our commitment to teaching has the classroom environment change every half term, to fit with the topics and themes.

Every half term, each class learns about a different topic.
Topics we have taught are:

  • Space Invaders
  • Me & My Family
  • Dangerous Dragons
  • London Calling
  • World War II
  • Beyond The Wardrobe
  • It's All Greek to Me
  • The Land Before Time
  • Wild Things
  • Fantastic Farms
  • London's Burning

Every classroom is stocked with a host of literacy resources and we strive to continually add to these.

Every classroom, all the way up to Year 6, has a role play area where the children are encouraged to use their imaginations and create independent writing based on their topic.

Harris Primary Academy Crystal Palace is wholeheartedly committed to supporting the whole child from within the classroom and is an inclusive environment within which to work.
